Volcano Classic Review: A

The Volcano Classic sets the bar for all vaporizers. In my opinion, it is the reigning King of Vaporizers.

It uses a balloon fill system, so you don’t have to deal with whips or glass bulbs. It is ready to go in 3-5 minutes and the bag fills up in about 20 seconds. Passing around balloon bags is the best way to vape with friends.

When using the Volcano, it is important to grind your herb into a fine consistency.

It’s big and bulky, but it burns clean and true, wastes very little herb, and delivers top notch vapor for your pleasure.

It does work exceptionally well.  Turn on the machine.  It will take about five minutes to get to the temperature you select. This is one of my only dislikes about the Volcano--the unit does take about 5 minutes to warm up.

The chamber will snap into place, but my only OTHER issue is that the chamber itself is flimsy and can break or become hard to close properly over time. And replacements are costly.

Once securely in place, place the bag valve over the chamber, turn the green air button on, and inflate the bag to whatever desired volume you like.

Pull the bag off and toggle the AIR button off.

And remove the chamber, because if you leave it on, the ambient heat will turn your volcano into a very expensive aroma therapy machine.

Now you’ve got a bag full of clean, tasty vapor. And I mean Tasty. No metallic smell, no smoky aftertaste, nothing but a nice, organic, citrusy (at least for me) vapor that goes down and exits just as easily as you can hope for.

Pros

• Solid Germany construction. The Volcano is built like a TANK.
• Consistent vapor quality thanks to the precise temperature control.
• In my opinion, balloon bags are the best way to vape with friends.

Cons

• The Volcano takes about 5 minutes to warm up.
• Replacement bags and valves can be pricey.

Conclusion: I highly recommend the Volcano. It has held the title King of Vaporizers for almost 15 years now, and no one has come close to dethroning it.

If you are interested in the Volcano, also consider the Volcano Digital, which has temperature settings accurate to +/- 2.7F. In my opinion, though, I think the Classic is good enough for most people's needs.
