It removes a wide variety of airborne contaminants in a medium size room up to 400 square feet (it can clean up to 800 square feet, but is most effective at 400). Multiple filtration technologies are incorporated in this air purifier to remove the bacteria, odor, dust, and pollen that irritate allergy and asthma sufferers, but also to remove some VOC’s which science is revealing are more prevalent in our homes than previously thought.
An integrated Prefilter-HEPA filter-Carbon filter provide the filtering technology for particles and odors, and photo catalytic oxidation with ultraviolet light provides the technology for reducing VOC’s which are emitted from paint, carpeting, wood products, computer printers, aerosols etc. The two UV lights also remove bacteria.
