Follow These Self Waxing Procedures

For self waxing, you need a box of cold wax, a spatula, electric heater (specifically designed for the purpose) and disposable strips or thick cotton cloth cut into strips. Self waxing products or kits are available in cosmetic stores. Wash your skin with plain water. Washing will remove natural oils, cream if applied, from the skin. This will ease the process of hair removal from the skin. Pat the skin dry. Take some amount of cold wax and put it in the electric heater. The wax will start melting. When it gains honey like consistency, you are supposed to start the actual process of waxing. Take the spatula and dip it into the melted wax. Take it out with the wax on it.
Keep the spatula over the electric heater so as to remove excess of wax sticking to it. When done, spread a layer of the wax with the spatula on the part of the body from where you wish to remove hair. You are supposed to apply wax in the direction of hair growth. Place the disposable strip or cotton cloth, whichever you have selected, on the layer of the wax. Press the strip with your hand in the direction of hair growth. Hold its end and pull it off in one go in the direction opposite to hair growth. You will feel a sudden, sharp pain. The pain goes away within a couple of seconds. This will remove the hair from that particular part of the skin. This is the basic step of self waxing.
Self Waxing: Tips: There are some waxing tips which can help you self wax yourself quite easily and comfortably. Consider taking a shower with lukewarm water before doing self wax. Heat will open the pores on our skin. Open pores will ease hair removal. Hence, the intensity of pain during waxing will be much reduced. You may try numbing the skin before self waxing to reduce pain during hair removal. Take an over-the-counter pain killer like aspirin, Tylenol and Ibuprofen at least a half hour prior to reduce the sensitivity of the skin.
